Siberian larch swells naturally when filled to form a watertight seal, without relying on chemical treatments or liners. It's the same wood boat builders rely on for outdoor durability. Because the furnace sits outside the tub, cleanup and bather comfort are both improved, and the whole set-up requires no permits, foundations, or plumbing work.

Set the tub on a flat, load-bearing surface, connect the external furnace, and fill with water. Light a wood fire and allow 2–4 hours for the water to reach a comfortable soaking temperature. Use the built-in ladder and bench for safe, easy access.

Drain the tub through the wooden drain plug after use or before long storage periods. Rinse the interior with fresh water to prevent mineral buildup, and apply wood oil to the exterior annually to maintain weather resistance.
