The cabin is supplied with a fixing kit and instructions, along with standard foundation beams. Door and window positions can be swapped on installation to suit your preferred layout. We recommend upgrading to shingles rather than standard felt for the roof — ordinary felt typically lasts 2–3 years, while shingles last at least 15 years. The cabin is supplied untreated and requires treatment (paint, stain or impregnation fluid) as soon as installation is complete. Given the scale of this building, professional or experienced DIY installation is recommended.
Tuindeco builds log cabins using slow-grown Spruce for a tight, dense wood grain that gives genuine stability and durability. The Dingle's extra-thick 70mm walls and full double glazing reflect a focus on cabins built for real year-round use, not just a summer retreat.
- Treat the untreated Spruce timber with paint, stain or impregnation fluid as soon as installation is complete
- Reapply timber treatment periodically to maintain weather protection
- Check door and window seals periodically for wear
- Upgrade to roof shingles for significantly longer roof life than standard felt
