Douglas fir comes from well-managed forest and is one of the most durable softwood species — tough, waterproof, and highly durable, with knot-free timber prized across central Europe for building. Falling in timber durability class 3-4, it's ideal for garden buildings. Its resinous heartwood exhibits amber pink to reddish brown tones and develops a distinctive weathered look over time. High quality treatments are available to help it keep its natural colour.
